For those not familiar, the pride cycle is a common phenomenon where a person or group of people rise and fall in righteousness and prosperity, down to wickedness and destitution. It seems clear with the Nephites over and over again, where they, in a period of humility, accept Christ.                     In our recent studies of the Book of Mormon in the Come Follow Me study guide, we learned about Alma giving up the judgement seat so that he could preach the gospel to the people of Nephi to bring them closer to God. He did that by, “…bearing down in pure testimony…” to them. In that same spirit, we testify that God is our Father in Heaven, the creator of our spirits who loves us and wants us to return to live with him.  Jesus Christ is his only begotten son in the flesh, our Savior and Redeemer. He suffered all in order to help succor us in our sorrows, pains, and griefs. He has purchased us with his blood, written us upon the palms of His hands, and with his stripes we are healed. We also testify that Joseph Smith saw and spoke to both the Father and the Son in the Sacred Grove 200 years ago.
