Hello Friends and Family, As we are all doing our “Come Follow Me” studies at home, we wanted to post a short message on the weekly lesson from one of our Sunday School teachers. We would love to get some weekly discussion going on the lessons.  Please post Questions/Comments on our Gospel Living App in the “Adults” and/or “Youth” Circles. Wish you all well and be safe out there.  - 3 rd  Ward Sunday School Presidency ------------------- Forgiveness Every class I teach starts with the question: “What stood out to you this week?” Why? Our Come Follow Me discussions are not supposed to be lectures, but discussions to enhance the personal experience each class member has during the week as they study the scriptures.   I can’t wait to start those discussions again. One item that jumped out at me in this week’s reading has to do with the Lord’s willingness to forgive.   Every time I read the Book of Mormon a different theme pops out at me and i...

All this in just one powerful chapter. While each of these could be a blog post in of themselves, there is one doctrine that has impacted me significantl...

Wish you all well and be safe out there.  - 3 rd  Ward Sunday School Presidency ------------------- Thoughts from Michael Harris A major theme in life, as exemplified in the Book of Mormon, is the pride cycle. For those not familiar, the pride cycle is a common phenomenon where a person or group of people rise and fall in righteousness and prosperity, down to wickedness and destitution. It seems clear with the Nephites over and over again, where they, in a period of humility, accept Christ. Accepting Christ leads them to be productive and prosperous, as was their promise from God to their common father, Lehi. With prosperity comes ...

Securing Blessings from Heavenly Father, by Ken & Tawny Porter

In our recent studies of the Book of Mormon in the Come Follow Me study guide, we learned about Alma giving up the judgement seat so that he could preach the gospel to the people of Nephi to bring them closer to God. He did that by, “…bearing down in pure testimony…” to them. In that same spirit, we testify that God is our Father in Heaven, the creator of our spirits who loves us and wants us to return to live with him.  Jesus Christ is his only begotten son in the flesh, our Savior and Redeemer. He suffered all in order to help succor us in our sorrows, pains, and griefs. He has purchased us with his blood, written us upon the palms of His hands, and with his stripes we are healed. We also testify that Joseph Smith saw and spoke to both the Father and the Son in the Sacred Grove 200 years ago. Through the Prophet Joseph, the church organized by Jesus Christ has been restored to the ...
